::: listening to the growing storm she sees the wild flashes of thunder and revels in the crashing thunder... turning her face upward to the onslaught of the raging storm she begins to laugh maniacally.. only to sputter and cough... it is only then that she remembers some advice given her in the Blind Fish... NEVER turn yor face up and open your mouth in a rain storm...::::

Yes I am back and ready to run again.... the move was long and hard but me and my family have adjusted quite well to our new surroundings... our new home is in a small, quiet community that reminds me of our old town... not the hustle and bustle of a BIG city like I expected... my mate is getting settled into his new job working 7:30 to 4:30 for the next few weeks then switching to either 3 to 11 or 4 to midnight after that...

Jassie has been running herself ragged in our new home because she has 4 times the space that we had before... her favorite phrase is "like new house" and I've been snapping LOTS of pics of her playing all around the house... she likes the playground... which BTW is cleaned and raked EVERY MOnday and was just repainted this week... the pool opens this weekend so I figure that one of my mate's 3 days off we will take advantage of it....

While I have internet at the moment I am waiting for get my new email addy since my charter account is gone... til then if anyone needs to contact me riambrat@hotmail.com is my default email... I figure that, since we have a static IP (it never changes) we will set up our own mail server and go from there... for the service we are getting on the internet the price of $59.95 a month is well worth it.. MUCH better, MUCH faster than what we had before at a cheaper price.... we also have the standard cable which gives us channels 2 through 74 at $44.00 whereas we were paying $35.00 for channels 2 through 21 in the old place... food prices aren't that much more here either.. and even though we pay 7% tax on non food items we don't have tax on food... I'll take a 1% increase on nonfood to save the 5% that we were paying...

I do miss my family not being close by... but that's what the phone and email are for

Ok... Cat stayed with us to help move in and get some of the unpacking done since she and my mate WON'T let me do much given my "delicate condition" we bought her a ticket on grayhound so she could head back home... she had 2 stop overs where she would change buses and the whole trip was only supposed to take 5 hours... anyway she didn't call that evening at least when we were home(no answering machine hooked up yet) so I am surprised when she calls the NEXT day at 6 pm to say that she had JUST GOT HOME! It seems that the first bus was 50 minutes late because the driver was sick and they had to get a replacement.. so when it shows up she boards it and gets to her first change over only to learn that that bus had already left and the ticket office couldn't say WHEN if EVER another bus for her home would be leaving! Ok so now she is stranded in a bus station with a worthless ticket so she calls, not US who could have picked her up and either taken her on home or brought her back here, but her husband... HE takes off work and drives to the bus station (about a 3 hour drive) and on the way out of town his transmission blows... SO they have to get a hotel for the night, spend $400 to get the transmission fixed so they can get home... needless to say he missed 2 days of work and was late the third day...
Well my mate calls the grayhound office and says he wants his money back for the ticket since the contract wasn't fulfilled on their end and the person he spoke to said that that was tough that things happen and they aren't responsible... so of course he asks to speak to her supervisor and is give another number to call... he gets hold of a person at that number and explains that IF the ticket office had explained that because the original bus was 50 minutes late that she would miss her change overs then she could have cancelled that trip (or gotten a raincheck for another bus) then she wouldn't have been stranded AND have to fork out money for a hotel the person is sending a form for my mate to fill out with all the details and the request for the return of the cost of the ticket AND the hotel... so think twice before you board a late bus....

/rant off

well that is enough for now I think... time for me to go pester the EQ crew since Nita's been MIA for 3 weeks now....

take care and remember... he who laughs last thinks slowest...
